Whether angel numbers are coincidences or divine messages, there’s no doubt that many people see them. Are they physically occurring, or does confirmation bias have us seeing things that aren’t there?
I see angel numbers constantly, and I’ve recorded many of them. I’ve been playing a game where I see how many I can find on a feed like Instagram.
I pulled 10 screenshots in 3 minutes and referred to ChatGPT for the probability of seeing these numbers at this frequency.

1: Angel Numbers
Angel numbers are repeating numbers like 333 or sequences like 123. We might notice them on clocks, receipts, or anywhere there are numbers. Most people see them once in a while, and find them reassuring.
I see them every day, all the time. People say them to me, I see them on license plates, social media feeds, again, anywhere there are numbers. For simplicity, I’m sticking to Instagram likes, comments, and shares counts.
2: Confirmation Bias
Seeing the numbers frequently could be confirmation bias, a trick of the brain in noticing something more when it’s important. That doesn’t account for the actual frequency of these numbers in this experiment.
I definitely have confirmation bias. BUT I’m focusing on the PROBABILITY of these numbers occurring in rapid succession, physically. We’re talking hard data here, not up for interpretation that it’s happening.
But what’s causing it? I asked ChatGPT to see what’s up.
3: ChatGPT Experiment
Here’s where I consulted with ChatGPT to confirm that, yes, the numbers are actually occurring, I’m not just imagining them. From there we started examining the potential causes of them showing up so much.
Randomness
Whatever’s happening is definitely NOT a random event, we’re talking like 1 in a billion that I see them every time within a few minutes like I do. You can read our back and forth about the exact odds on the website.
So there must be something else going on here.
Users/Algorithm
When you review the ChatGPT conversation, you’ll see that the AI surmises it could be the algorithm “rounding” numbers to “clean” numbers. I’m still trying to figure out what that means, but it seems possible.
Quantum Observer Effect
I love to play with the possibility that we live in a consciousness-based reality. That would mean our awareness is creating our physical experience, not the other way around as science currently believes.
To prove something like this, I would have to have another person who doesn’t have the confirmation bias review a feed that I never see. Then we can compare how many angel numbers I see versus what they see.
Conclusion
This is an ongoing experiment to examine a fun mystery. I don’t pretend to know the exact cause of why I see so many of them, only that I find it interesting to explore. Check out the ChatGPT conversation for more.
